The Time
Zone data entry field allows the selection of six times zones
applicable to the USA and Canada, or another selection labeled
"Other". After making your selection, press GO. If one of the
USA or Canada times zones has been selected, the GMT offset in
seconds will be displayed under "GMT Offset (Sec)". Background: A time stamp is included in email messages and in streaming data sent by the Node. If the Node has a path to the Internet (also required for email), the Node will automatically obtain accurate UTC/GMT time (Coordinated Universal Time or Greenwich Mean Time) from an online NTP time server. The Node’s time zone, daylight saving time status, and the offset from UTC/GMT time are supplied using this screen. |
