Panel Meter Part Number L50301 by Laurel Electronics is a serial input meter and remote display which includes an RS232 interface, six green 14.2 mm (0.56 inch) LED digits, universal 85-264 Vac or 95-300 Vdc power, four 8A Form A contact relays. The meter displays serial data from a computer, programmable controller, Laureate instrument, or other device with a serial data output. Readings can be extracted from ASCII strings that contain multiple data values and non-numeric characters, such as Start and Stop characters. Any number of characters between the Start character and the data can be masked Off. Up to 8 display characters (including sign and decimal point) can be masked On. Any number of characters between the last displayed character and the Stop character can be masked Off. The meter can be equipped with an optional relay output board with 2 or 4 relays to provide remote alarm or setpoint control capability. These can be 8A contact relays or opto-isolated 120 mA AC/DC solid state relays. The relays can respond to the transmitted values or to any of 8 serially transmitted control characters. The meter can also be equipped with a single or dual 16-bit isolated analog output board to serve as a low-cost and highly accurate serial-to-analog converter and transmitter. RS232, RS485, USB or Ethernet interfaces supports three protocols - Modbus RTU, Modbus ASCII, and the simpler Laurel ASCII protocol. Power and all inputs and outputs are mutually isolated. The meter fits in a 1/8 DIN panel cutout (92 x 45 mm) and is protected to NEMA 4X (IP65) when panel mounted. It is certified to CE, RoHS, and ETL / UL standards.
